About the Role
We’re hiring an experienced Associate Patent Attorney with a background in electrical engineering, software, or computer science for a fully remote role at Thompson Patent Law.
As an Associate Patent Attorney, you will:
Draft and prosecute patent applications using our Litigation Quality Patents® approach
Deliver top-tier concierge-level service through orchestrated systems
Collaborate with a driven, respectful team of A-Team Players
Support and retain high-quality clients who are serious about innovation and monetization

Compensation
We offer competitive compensation aligned with industry standards for this role. The compensation range is $150,000–$200,000, with base salary commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will also receive substantial monthly and annual performance-based incentive bonuses tied to results and demonstrated excellence.

Experienced patent attorney who is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member in good standing of at least one state bar
Skilled in drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications

Education & Experience:
Must be available Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time).
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Candidates must have a quiet, professional home office setup with reliable internet and a personal computer suitable for performing the duties of this role.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications. All team members will be trained in the Litigation Quality Patents® process.
Must have a degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
Minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale – no exceptions.
Registered to practice before the United States Patent Office
Must be a member of one state bar in good standing
