As an Associate Patent Attorney or Patent Agent you will be an A-Team Player on the TPL team responsible for drafting and prosecuting patents using our proprietary Litigation Quality Patents® approach, and supporting the retention of long-term, quality clients by executing orchestrated production systems to fulfill clients’ needs and expectations.
We are seeking an experienced electrical/software patent attorney or patent agent who is ready to learn the Litigation Quality Patents® process from our Managing Principal Patent Attorney, Craige Thompson, who is known by his colleagues and clients as the “The Examiner Whisperer” and “The Patent Killer.”

Compensation: Base salary is commensurate with experience. successful candidates will also receive substantial monthly and annual performance-based incentive bonuses tied to results and demonstrated excellence.

Essential Duties:
• Preparing and drafting provisional and non-provisional patent applications.
• Responding to communications (e.g., Office Actions) from the USPTO.
• Managing docket, meeting deadlines, and delivering results.
Education & Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications. All team members will be trained in the Litigation Quality Patents® process.
• Must have a degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
• Minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale – no exceptions.
• USPTO Registration required.
• State bar registration required only if applying as an attorney.
• Must be available Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
